Boyfriend’s 21st Birthday

For some strange reason, there is always a typhoon during his birthday. It may not be on the day itself, but it’s at most 2 days away. Let’s see.. there’s Milenyo, Ondoy, Hanna (2007, how could I ever forget? :P) and this year, it’s Pedring who got an invite.

Frankly, I didn’t had a solid plan about what I’d do for his birthday. Well fine, I’ve got a few ideas, but I never had the chance to pursue any of them due to lack of time and monetary power :P Hihi! Anyway, I overlooked the days, thinking I still got plenty of time, until September 27th came. It was the final day before his birthday aka my last chance to get him something, but unfortunately, it was also the day when Pedring chose to do his landfall. So yes, I was stuck inside the house with no electricity and nothing for him for the next day — which is his “21st” (guy-debut, ftw!) birthday. And just my luck, he didn’t have cellphone reception almost that entire day due to the typhoon so I wasn’t able to greet him at 12mn!

Then came his birthday. Still no electricity, water and cellphone signal. But the weather was getting better so I decided to go out and get him something (I did took a bath, but there wasn’t enough water to wash my hair.. so, :P). My first idea was to get him 21 pcs of cupcakes.. so I went to every BakeShop I know around town. Unfortunately, they all can’t take my super rush order so I ended up at Goldilocks where I saw this small cupcake like thing. (Well, it’s more like a super tiny roll of cake, or a piece of chocolate, or more like a brownie? whatever. You get the picture.) But they only have 13 pieces left, so I decided to check out the other Goldilocks branch - which is not really that far, but still.. far. HAHA. When I got there, they only have 7 pcs of that thing left, so I hurriedly bought it and even asked them to call the other branch and reserve that 13 pieces for me (which was down to 12 when they called!).

In connection to the 21-cupcakes idea, I thought of choosing 21 pictures of him which I’d have printed and have them used as the cupcake topper. :D

Picture a girl running to and from in the middle of the rain (with flood in some areas, just for the record)! Actually, I even got my period in the middle of doing it all! How timely! HAHAHA

After getting all I need, went home as fast as I could and finally took a nice, decent bath (electricity and water was finally back!). Prepared my paraphernalia’s (heheh) and went to boyfriend’s house as quick as I could - which by tricycle, through this shortcut.

And then goes another Hannah-experience. This ‘shortcut’ was completely flooded (knee-high!) that the water reached the tricycle seat, making me wet :-( Of course, I had to get out of that tricycle and just walk my way through the looooong flooded road, instead of getting my bottom wet all over! And I was carrying alot of things. Uh hello? I was holding a large box of cake, along with my quite big bag and some other stuff. Boy, it was tough! I even had an audience at the end of the flooded road. Shameful. But I’m glad I got through with it! HAHA

Finally arrived at the birthday boy’s house. I wasn’t with him the entire time I was there, since he had other “visitors” to entertain, but I was happy. :) Stayed there the entire afternoon. I even took photos of his adorable niece and nephew :))

I really hope he liked the “cake” I made. (But I do know he liked his photos!haha)  It’s not much, but it’s better that nothing. :-) Riiiiggght??? :P

And to my Ever Dearest Boyfriend, I know you almost never read my blog, but I hope you get to read this and realize that you are sooo lucky to have a me as a girlfriend!! HAHA! I kid. :)) I hope you will never ever forget that there’s a girl who’d be willing to make lusong in the baha just for you. Hehehe. I love you :”>
